Tweet, Ask, Learn: The Power of the Billtrust Twitterview
If you have a Twitter account, are you using it to it’s full potential? Whether you have tweeted a few times or have thousands of followers, there is a lot more you can do with it that you may be missing out on. For me, Twitter is one of my main sources for news and following industry trends. If I had to guess, I’d say the average person doesn’t engage with industry and news influencers on topics that pertain to your career or business via Twitter, even though it is a great space to do just that! Whether you frequently talk to influencers or it’s never crossed your mind, I have a term I want you to think about: Twitterviews.
A Twitterview is exactly what it sounds like, a live interview on Twitter. At Billtrust we regularly hold Twitterviews as a way to discuss trending industry topics, such as fintech or information security, new Billtrust products such as Billtrust Business Directory, or a Billtrust unique area of expertise, like electronic adoption.
One thing that I love about our Twitterviews is that it gives anyone the opportunity to ask our industry expert a question and get a response in real-time.
Where else can you have a one-on-one conversation with an expert and have your questions answered quickly? There’s no better way to get access to leaders in the field.
You’re probably wondering how a Twitterview works? The key is crafting a hashtag that is unique and relevant to our Twitterview topic, such as #QuantumPayments. Next, we promote the event and invite anyone to ask our expert guest a question or two. Another Twitterview benefit occurs once the social media event is over. The entire conversation becomes a permanent online resource that you can view at any time. All you have to do is search the specific hashtag on Twitter.
As a someone that spends a lot of time on social media (it is my job after all!) I think Twitterviews are an insightful way to obtain expert statistics, best practices, and more directly from the source. If you’re interested in learning more we recently launched a Twitterview page where you can find information on our past social media events.
