Why I like to say #ThankGodItsMonday
This past Sunday evening I, like many football fans, sat on my couch as I watched two teams punch their ticket to the big game. Now, my team wasn’t in the playoffs, and I was rooting for the team that would eventually go on to lose the game. This outcome, along with the thought of the impending Nor’easter, had me feeling pretty bummed out. Then it hit me. I thought to myself, “Tomorrow is Monday, I get to go to work tomorrow.” For most people, this would be an “Ughhhhh” moment. But I’m a Billtrust employee and this simple thought raised my spirits from being down about the game and weather, to happy and excited that I get to wake up and go to a job I love.
How do you get to this moment of “I love my job and can’t wait to go to work on Monday?” For me, it’s a combination of a few things.
- Our company culture is based on the statement, “Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History.” and I feel it in the work I do every single day. I get to have fun while trying new things and do the best job I can.
- When you work with smart people, there is a lot you can learn. I have opportunities to learn, grow, and achieve my personal goals while I collaborate with others to help Billtrust grow.
- The work I do has meaning. I work for a company that helps A/R departments work smarter, not harder, allowing their organizations to grow and succeed in meaningful ways too.
One of the coolest aspects of #ThankGodItsMonday at Billtrust is that I know I am not alone in feeling this way. When I walk down the hallways in our offices, I talk to people and I can feel how genuinely happy they are to be at work on a Monday too.
Every day when I wake up, I genuinely look forward to the work I am going to do, which I believe enhances the work I do. When I interact with customers on social media and read testimonials, I get the feeling that because of Billtrust solutions, they also look forward to Mondays too, and that’s a pretty cool feeling. I look forward to the day when everyone can say #ThankGodItsMonday, because we all get the opportunity to do work we love at a place we love.
Does your job ever make you experience a #ThankGodItsMonday moment?
