Much more than an auto-responder

Frequently asked questions

What is the Collections Email Responder?

Collections Email Responder is an AI feature in Billtrust’s Collections solution. It classifies inbound buyer emails across six different request types, then answers the routine ones automatically in the assigned collector’s name and voice, so a simple request does not sit in the inbox for days, slowing buyer payments.

Setup is light. Turn the feature on with a master switch, then choose which of the six request types it handles. You can start by automating one request type and add more over time as confidence with the tool grows.

Only when you allow it and only when it meets a specific threshold designed to flag inquiries that may require human-lead response. Anything below the threshold waits for a collector’s review and approval. You control which request types send automatically, and every automated reply is logged, so managers can see how customer service is being handled.

No. It is included for all Billtrust Collections customers at no additional cost.

Yes. Every classification, reply, and automated send is recorded in the activity log, so managers can see inquiry volume, what was handled automatically, and which inquiries were routed to a collector for human-lead work.
